The best part is that there’s no cap on how much you can save BUT the deal is valid for one time use only and the offer expires 12/12/2024.

So, if you wanted to buy the Ikon Base Pass, you would have to pay $1,019, but with the Chase Sapphire Reserve discount, you will end up only having to pay $815.

The discount is in the form of a statement credit so it won’t be immediate, but it should post to your account within 14 days.

Just checked in to the beautiful Palais Amani hote

Just checked in to the beautiful Palais Amani hotel and what a dream this place is. The center courtyard is the most serene garden I’ve ever been in and it’s literally right outside our room. The birds you hear chirping are the actual sounds of the hotel (not part of the music).

Palais Amani is part of Mr. and Mrs. Smith hotels which is now a part of the World of Hyatt program. We could have booked this room on points but the cash rate was a better deal than redeeming on points.

Nothing could have prepared me for how beautiful the courtyard was though! I mean I practically felt like Snow White lol.

My jaw literally DROPPED when I walked out to the rooftop! I wanted to come here and grab a drink during sunset but I couldn’t believe what a view this was!

This rooftop bar is said to be the highest point in the medina of Fez and I believe it! It was a pretty decent hike up getting to this hotel. We even got lost while we were in the hotel too hahaha.

I was recording myself of us trying to find the rooftop and when we did, I caught my genuine reaction to the view. This is not fake and it was not planned.

The view was really breathtaking and I wish I had been time-lapsing the whole thing but I forgot because I was just enjoying the moment so much.

If you get a chance, I highly recommend coming up here for a drink during sunset!

Such peace and quiet! 💕 I wasn’t expecting much from this city but man did it blow my mind. It’s not like the rest of Morocco and I feel like has more European influence seeing that Spain is literally across the way.

I was most impressed by how clean the Kasbah/Old Medina was! On top of how all the buildings were white made it seem like I was almost in Greece somehow.

Definitely recommend you make a stop here and DEFINITELY stay in the kasbah. Don’t stay by the train station. There’s nothing really there except congested city life.

My Airbnb was located in the kasbah and I got to wake up every day to quiet streets like these. I was so nice to just walk out your door and have the whole place to yourself 💕

These are my Top 5 Things to do in Tangier (except the last one)! I know a lot of other blogs or website says to go to the beach or caves but I didn’t think it was worth the trek.

The first 4 things are all within the Old Media and can be done in one day if you choose. The 5th thing you will need to take long bus or taxi to.

📍 Walk Around the Old Medina/Kasbah (#1)
-This was by far my favorite thing to do during the day or night. All the buildings were so beautiful and everything was so clean.
Pro Tip: if you want to take pictures without people, come early in the morning around 8:00 or 9:00 am. Tangier is a late city and people don’t start moving until around 10:00 am. I literally had the whole Kasbah to myself.

📍 Salon Bleu’s Rooftop (#2)
-If you want a place to rest to soak in the views and some vitamin D, I highly suggest going to Salon Bleu. With that being said, the food was only so-so. I would only get the orange gelato and a cold drink to wash it down with.

📍American Legation Museum
-I’m not a big fan of museums but I found this one quite interesting since it has to do with the U.S. If you’re not a museum person either, the courtyard is at least good enough for some cute pictures

📍 Kasbah Museum
-This is a pretty small museum and won’t take up much of your time. It’s an old restored building with a lush green courtyard. If you’re on a time crunch though, you can probably skip it.

📍 Chefchaouen (#5)
-This place is technically not in Tangier and is actually a 2.5-3 bus ride away but absolutely worth a visit. I did a day trip out there ($5 each way) and only probably needed a couple hours. I also like how Chefchaouen is named the “Blue City” and Tangier is named the “White City.” It’s fun to see the contrast.

This Airbnb was absolutely amazing and I had the whole place to myself!

Usually, I prefer to stay in hotels especially when I’m traveling by myself but none of the hotels in Tangier were really speaking to me. So, I decided to look up some Airbnbs and this one popped up and it was SUPER affordable.

The rooftop is what really sold it! It was so picturesque and a great way to relax. The next morning I even woke up early to watch the sunrise.

I think the best part of the Airbnb was that it was in the beautiful historic Kasbah area and it felt really safe especially being a solo female traveler. I was able to walk everyone, eat at fantastic restaurants, and still be within a 10-minute walking distance back to the Airbnb.

Another semi-solo trip in the books and this time it was in Morocco! It’s my 61st country and got to spend two amazing weeks traveling across the country.

Has anyone else done this? Setting up your camera equipment somewhere hoping it’ll still be there when you come back to it lol?

My Airbnb in Tangier has a great view of the sunrise but there are A LOT of seagulls flying around so I was scared I was going to wake up and it would be gone!

I was so paranoid that I ended up staying outside on the patio wrapped up in a blanket. I’m not a morning person so this was one of the few times I stayed awake to watch the sunrise.

Did you see the smaller boat leave and the bigger cruise ship come in? The cruise ship doesn’t look that big in the video but it was fun watching it try to dock.

This city was definitely on my Morocco bucket list

This city was definitely on my Morocco bucket list when I first heard about it. I love that it looks nothing like the restaurant of Morocco and almost every building is blue or white!

This is the city of Chefchaouen! It’s located 2.5-3 hours away (by bus or taxi) from Tangier. I decided to make a day trip out here instead of staying overnight since it was less packing and repacking for me.

I took the first bus (7:45 am) which was 50 MAD ($5 USD) one way and then I took the 3:30 pm bus back. The bus leaves from Tangier Bus Station (not the train station). It was PLENTY of time to walk around and take pictures.

Regarding the bus though…Not going to lie, the bus was pretty gross. You can check out my other reel to see details.

Instead, I met some people who said you can grab a Grand Taxi from the train station where you wait for them to fill up all the seats (6 ppl usually) for about 70 MAD one way. I believe there is one stop in Tetouan where you have to transfer. But I also hear there are Grand Taxis that go all the way to Chefchaouen but are less frequent.

Not going to lie… this bus was gross and I’ve taken some pretty nasty bus rides in my life!

1st Pic: The seats are so crammed together that there’s barely any leg room and that’s saying a lot coming from a petite person. Which is why I’m assuming the passenger decided to treat this bus as his home and put his bare feet up on the seats 🫤

2nd Pic: Do I even want to know why there’s a used Q-tip is the back seat pocket???

3rd Pic: Love the trash on the floor. That was there when I boarded so you know they don’t clean the bus regularly.

4th Pic: The bus was SO COLD that people had to stuff tissues in the vents to keep it from blowing on them!

5th: There’s no picture for this because this was a situation of the seats smelling like B.O. I had to move seats because it was so strong.

Bus Route: This was the bus ride from Tangier to Chefchaouen. This was supposed to be a day trip so the bus seemed like the easiest and cheapest option (50 MAD= $5 USD) Even though this was true, I think I would have paid more to be more comfortable.

Alternative Route: For anyone thinking about making the same trip, I met other people who said they just used a Grand Taxi from the train station. You will have to wait for them to fill up the taxi (6 ppl) and they will take to the town of Tetouan where you will have to transfer to another taxi to Chefchaouen. I also heard there are some that takes you straight to Chefchaouen but not sure how frequent those are. The cost will be around 75-90 MAD one way.

So it’s up to you if you want a non-stop route or don’t mind making a stop along the way. At least you know what the bus ride looks like now at least 👀
