Hi! My name is May and if you don’t know me, I’m currently fulfilling a dream of mine to snowboarding around the world and on top of that, I’m doing it SOLO!

Some friends have met me here and there along the way but I pretty much have planned and booked everything myself.

Day 42 - Snowboarding Around the World Trip If yo $Day 42 - Snowboarding Around the World Trip If you’re wondering about Day 41, I took it off from snowboarding to concentrate on work and editing IG reels. Man… it is so HARD to edit and travel at the same time. I think it would have been easier if I had my own room, but since I was staying in a hostel, it’s really hard to get any peace and quiet. For today though, we are finally moving on to Niseko! I can’t believe I’m coming back full circle. If you’ve been following my journey, you would have known that I fractured my ankle last year and wasn’t able to snowboard in Niseko but all of my friends got to. I was DEVASTATED 😞. Luckily, this year, a different group was going so I got to tag along and make up for last year! To save some money, I decided to take public transportation to Niseko which wasn’t the easiest or fastest route, but at least it was the cheapest. Take the Dohan Bus (Rusutsu>Kuchan Line) from Rusutsu Resort. The bus will park out front at the side of the hotel. The fare was ¥1030 yen to Kutchan Station. From there, I had to arrange a taxi for pickup to take me to the Park Hyatt Niseko which a 10-min cab ride for about $26. So, I spent less than $35 USD getting from Rusutsu to Niseko which is much better than taking a taxi the whole way there which probably would have cost $100-$150. The Park Hyatt Niseko is a Category 8 property and since it was peak season, it cost 45,000 points per night for 3 nights. Luckily, our room could fit 4 people so we split 135,000 points 4 ways (33,750 points/person). If you can get a group together, this is a STEAL. We did also book almost a year in advance though. For dinner, we ate at this restaurant called small izakaya which I thought was only okay. I just feel like I had better elsewhere. Also, the portions were tiny so we had to keep ordering which ran up the bill.
