What to Spend Your $50 Saks Fifth Avenue Amex Credit On (Spring-Summer 2022)
Once again, I’ve waited until the last minute to use my $50 Saks Fifth Avenue Amex credit from my American Express Platinum Card. So, I spent the week looking for items that caught my eye and thought I would share all the great deals I found. A lot of the items are a little more expensive than the $50 credit, but I found some good ones under $50 as well. I always like to spend a little bit more knowing that I took advantage of the entire $50 credit. Why leave extra money on the table, right?

What is the $50 Saks Fifth Avenue Amex Credit?
If you have the American Express Platinum Credit Card, then you automatically get a $50 Saks Fifth Avenue statement credit twice a year (Jan-June and July-Dec). All you have to do is enroll and pay for your item with your Amex Platinum card. If you time it right alongside big shopping holidays like Memorial Day or Black Friday, there are promotions that Saks Fifth Avenue has that can save you even more money. Please keep in mind that this credit does not work for Saks OFF Fifth.
Additional Cash Back
Before you even begin shopping, make sure you sign up for Rakuten. It’s an online coupon tool that helps you get cash back on almost anything you buy. I have been a big fan of this for years (even when it used to be called Ebates) and I encourage you to sign up since it’s totally free. You literally get paid back real money every couple of months or so. I used to have a check mailed to me but now I’ve opted to have my cashback be paid back via PayPal. I’ve installed the Chrome browser widget so it always notifies me like the image below.
Free Shipping
Saks Fifth Avenue used to be a part of ShopRunner but it looks like they aren’t a part of that program anymore. It doesn’t matter either way because they now have free shipping and free returns on all of their items!
Items to Spend your $50 Saks Fifth Avenue Amex Credit On
Swim Cover-Ups
Summer is finally here and it’s time to break out those swimsuits! I’ve been seeing a lot of fashionable swimsuit coverups lately and Saks Fifth Avenue has a bunch of cute ones for very reasonable prices.
Dresses
I was so close to buying this python-looking dress. I wanted to wear it for work, but I decided to use my $50 Saks Fifth Avenue Amex Credit for something else. If the price drops even lower though, I might just buy it also.
Tops
I’ve been really loving the crop top + blazer combo lately and found these two comfy crop tops. Also, this black bodysuit caught my eye as a great alternative for a night out if you want to keep it more casual with a great pair of jeans.
Home
This mini electric steamer was definitely on my top 3 item list! I travel a lot and sometimes the hotel I stay at doesn’t have an iron (surprisingly). So, I would literally have to steam up the bathroom just to maybe get one or two wrinkles out. If I had this steamer, I wouldn’t even have to worry about that anymore! Also, below are the exact wine glasses that I have at home. I am a HUGE fan of Schott Zwiesel’s Pure line. I have almost every single glass from that line. I highly recommend it!
Skincare
A good place to look on where to spend your $50 Saks Fifth Avenue Amex credit is in the beauty section of their website. Most of the website is wayyyyyyyyy out of my budget, but I have always consistently found items under $50 in their beauty section. It also gives you a chance to try out something new. I swear by the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen. You can use it as a primer or if I’m out at the pool all day, I use it over my makeup.
Also, if you have read my first Saks Fifth Avenue post, you would know that I bought the Estée Lauder Eye Set. I would say I wasn’t a huge fan of the Supercharged Gel-Creme, but I really loved the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex. I would spend my money on that again!
Minimalist Jewelry
I love minimalist jewelry and I was actually surprised that Saks had some pretty decent quality items around that $50 mark. I don’t mind spending more when I know I’m going to get a better quality item. I hate jewelry that tarnishes right away.
Accessories
How pretty are these accessories! I love anything marble so my eye definitely went straight for the Airpod and phone case.
So What Did I End Up Buying?
I finally pulled the plug everyone! I finally bought the La Mer Moisturizing Cream. This is BY FAR the most expensive skincare item I have ever bought. I’m not getting any younger so I might as well try this out, right? In total, with taxes, it cost me $104.05, but with the $50 Saks Fifth Avenue Amex Credit, it really only cost me $54.05. Of course, you know I’ll be blogging about it eventually so you’ll get an honest review since I paid this with my own money.
