Chanel Hawaii Shopping Guide (Special Hawaii Pricing)
For the sixth installment of my luxury shopping guide, we’re going to visit the Chanel Hawaii Waikiki store located on Luxury Row. This store is a little bit farther from Waikiki Beach than most of the other luxury stores, but at least that means there are fewer tourists and people to deal with. If I’m not lucky enough to make it over to France, buying Chanel in Hawaii is my next favorite place. In my experience, I feel like the stock in Hawaii is much better than in the Mainland U.S. and in Paris. Late February and early March are great times to visit also because Chanel usually is in the process of stocking their incoming Spring/Summer collection.
As for the discount, it’s actually not that great like at Gucci or YSL. For most of the items, you only save money on the tax which is around 4.5% in Honolulu. The only thing at the Hawaii store that has special Hawaii Pricing is their fine jewelry. This does NOT include costume jewelry or high jewelry. I was surprised that Chanel had anything discounted at all. So, even though you won’t get a discount on their famous purses, I thought it would at least be worth writing about their fine jewelry.

SO WHAT IS THE PERCENTAGE OFF AT CHANEL HAWAII THEN?
From the fine jewelry that I looked at, it looked like it can range anywhere from 7%-10% off. I only looked at the rings and watches so I can’t really say if all fine jewelry will fall in that range, but any discount is a good thing in my book. Again, even though the purses, clothes, shoes, etc. do not have the special Hawaii Pricing, you still get a discount on the tax if you come from a state that has a higher percentage like California.
You might be thinking why don’t I just go to a place with no sales tax like in Portland, Oregon, then? Well, you definitely could! On our trip to Portland last year, we stopped by the Chanel store located in Nordstrom. I was hell-bent on finding something just so I felt like I was winning on the sales tax. Unfortunately, the problem with this is that the Chanel Portland store is really small and its inventory is very limited. I couldn’t find anything I liked enough where I was willing to spend the money. Also, the Portland store does not carry fine jewelry so you couldn’t even purchase it over there anyway.
SERVICE AT CHANEL HAWAII (WAIKIKI – LUXURY ROW)
I have been eyeing the Coco Crush rings for a while now and finally got the chance to try them on at the store. These rings are included in the fine jewelry category so I can confirm that there is a discount. They did not have my size at the store so the sales associate had to call the Ala Moana store to have them ship it over the next day. I came in the next day to try the ring on but immediately got distracted by all the new merchandise that came in overnight. They just got their spring/summer shipment in so they were in the process of putting it all out. I asked the sales associate if they actually had any boots in stock. I know it’s not really a spring/summer type of thing, but I’m obsessed with Chanel boots. Also, yes, I know it sounds weird asking about boots at the Hawaii store, but I thought I would try.
The sales associate said that whatever was out on the floor is whatever they had. I figured as much so I decided to walk around the store to see what else was new. A few minutes later, that same sales associate came out with a couple of pairs of boots that they actually had in the back. This sales associate wasn’t even the sales associate that was helping me out. I was impressed that he went to the back to look and I’m glad he did because I ended up buying one of those pairs of boots instead of the ring!
Overall, I really love the customer service at the Waikiki store. I’ve been to the Beverly Hills store and it’s like they don’t even notice you unless you’re spending tens of thousands of dollars. Also, the Beverly Hills store is super busy and there’s always a line out the door. The Waikiki store is not overly crowded, well-stocked with merchandise, and you have the full attention of the sales associate if you want it. I’ve even emailed them before after I was back in L.A. to help me find a beanie, which they totally did. Definitely go check them out!
PARKING AT THE CHANEL HAWAII WAIKIKI STORE
If you’ve ever called the Chanel line, you’ll notice that it will re-route you to a corporate line and not to the actual store. For such a high-end luxury brand, you would think you can connect directly with the store, but unfortunately, this is not the case. The reason I’m bringing this up is that we were trying to find the validated parking for Chanel and the corporate person who picked up the phone had no idea where it is. Apparently, they just have some boiler-plate notes in their system which were not helpful. We eventually got to the store and asked them where the parking was. So for anyone who’s planning on going to this store, there are validated underground parking at King Kalakaua Plaza (374 Kalaimoku St, Honolulu, HI 96815) or valet parking at the Ritz Carlton Residences (383 Kalaimoku St, Waikiki, HI 96815) behind the Chanel store. Hope this helps.

Hi, thank you for this post. Do you know how people call the boutique to order ahead of time if the store phone number only directs you to Chanel corporate line? Because I’ve heard people order ahead so the bag will be ready when they arrive to the Island.

Hi! Yes, unfortunately the Chanel phone line sucks and just directs you to the corporate office. If you are looking for a Chanel sales associate in Waikiki though, I have one you can contact and she would be able to help you. Send me a message on Instagram and I’ll send you her info.
