This post is going to concentrate solely on the Hyatt Regency Nice Globalist Benefits. Usually, I have the Globalist section included in my overall hotel review but I feel like my posts are getting too long so I thought it would be better to split them up. If you want to see my full review of the Hyatt Regency Nice, you can find it here! Also, if you don’t know what Globalist is, it’s the highest tier status that Hyatt offers to their customers on an annual basis. This year, Hyatt lowered the requirement for Globalist status from 60 nights to only 30 nights. That made it really achievable for a regular non-business person (like myself) to get the highest tier status.
Hyatt Regency Nice Globalist Benefits
// ROOM UPGRADE //
This is an interesting one! I noticed on my Hyatt app that I was upgraded to a “1 King Bed Deluxe” room. This was weird because I saw that the “Premium Suite” (Hyatt’s standard suite upgrade for Globalist) was still available. I inquired about it during check-in and the front desk agent said that they were pretty busy this week and that’s why it wasn’t available. I told him that I saw the room as still available online so he checked and he said that I was right.
He then called his manager out to double-check if it was okay for me to take that room and the manager kindly told me that, “the 1 King Bed Deluxe might not be a suite but is a better room and has a full ocean view. The Premium Suite is larger but the view is not as good.” So, it was up to me if I wanted more space or a better view. I asked if I could see both rooms and they were happy to show me.
We went to go check out the Premium Suite (705) on the 7th floor first. The room was huge, but the layout was kind of weird and the room looked pretty old. Also, the patio view was kind of obstructed by the columns of the building. Next, we went to go to the 1 King Bed Deluxe room (517) on the 5th floor. I was a little sad that it was on a lower floor but once I saw the room, I instantly fell in love. The manager was totally right. This room had a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean and a way bigger patio than the Premium Suite. I was sold!
Depending on your group size, that will determine what room I would recommend you get. If you have a choice like I did, I think single people or couples should totally go for the 1 King Bed Deluxe room. If you have a group or with your family, the Premium Suite will probably be better for you since you have more room. Again, it will come down to what you value more: space or view. Below are some quick pictures I took of the Premium Suite just for reference. If you want to see what the 1 King Bed Deluxe room looks like, you can find it here.
// CLUB ACCESS //
There is no club at the Hyatt Regency Nice. So, my breakfast benefit was the buffet on the third floor.
// HYATT GLOBALIST BREAKFAST //
The Hyatt Regency Nice offers a breakfast buffet down in the courtyard that was really nice. The view itself was worth going down for a bite. Definitely one of the better Globalist breakfasts I’ve had. They had an omelet station outdoors and all of the pastries, hot, and cold food items indoors in its own dedicated room.
// WAIVED RESORT FEES //
There is no resort fee at the Hyatt Regency Nice.
// BOTTLED WATER //
Bottle water was already provided in the room. Unclear if every room gets it or it was already set up for Globalists.
// PRIORITY ACCESS TO ROOM //
I always deem this benefit more as the possibility of getting early check-in. I knew I was already upgraded to a 1 King Bed Deluxe on my Hyatt app but the question would be if the room was ready yet. I checked in around noon and had no problem checking in early. This was nice since I got to have more time to spend in my room.
// LATE CHECK-OUT //
I could have stayed until 4:00 pm except that I had to get to Monaco to check into my next hotel. I did stay until around 2:00 pm though with no problem. When I checked out, the same guy that checked me in remembered me and asked how my stay was. I appreciated that he remembered me and told him that I had an amazing time and thanked him for his hospitality.
