S Bar is the newest lounge at the Mandalay Bay after taking over the old Red Square Restaurant space next to Light Nightclub. The Red Square Restaurant closed down back in late 2019 and has been going through renovations since the pandemic to now welcome S Bar which had its grand opening on New Year’s Day of 2022. The lounge is a cocktail-driven experience that also offers small bites, various types of entertainment, and a sexy vibe.

S Bar Las Vegas Location

S Bar is located inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and is tucked into the back of the casino where all the other restaurants and bars are. Mandalay Bay hasn’t updated their map yet so I’ve marked up the location for you down below. It’s right next to Citizens and Light Nightclub (which is also not on the map for some reason).

Dress Code

On the website, it says “upscale fashionable attire,” and the space does lend itself to that type of crowd. But when I went there, I definitely saw guys in t-shirts and sandals so I don’t think they are too strict on the dress code here.

 

What Time Should You Go?

I think anytime is a good time to go if you want a place to sit, chill, and have a few drinks. We went on a Friday night and first had dinner at Kumi and then moved over to S Bar afterward. We probably strolled into S Bar around 11:30 p.m. and it was still pretty lively. We left around 1:00 a.m. and I would say there were only a handful of people left.

 

What Did We Order?

We were a group of four girls and we ordered two Summer Evenings ($25 each), Rosemary Sour ($19), and Blood Orange Basil w/ Vodka ($21). Yes, these drinks are not cheap! You are definitely playing for the ambiance and the entertainment so be prepared to spend money if you come. We also got a round of shots after our cocktails (since we were headed to a nightclub), but you don’t have to be like us lol. You can probably get cheaper shots at the casino bar rather than buying them at S Bar. But hey, we were on a girls’ trip and in a rush so we just went for it!

 

Entertainment

Besides your usual DJ tucked in the corner, I believe on certain nights, they have different types of live music and entertainment. When we went on Friday night, there was a magician that was going around from table to table doing tricks for everyone. He probably sat at our table for like 20 minutes and he was so good! To be honest, he probably made our drinks worth the price that we paid. 

 

Overall Review of S Bar

If you are looking for a classy and sexy place to have a drink before or after your dinner at Mandalay Bay, look no further. The lounge does not get overcrowded and there’s plenty of room for you to spread out. Even though the decor is more on the high-end side, don’t let it stop you from coming in and having a drink. There were plenty of people dressed in casual clothes and just hanging out. The bar is great to hang out at if it’s just one or two of you. Or if you have a big party, they have booths that can accommodate almost any group size.
